Westminster Man Found Dead In Frederick

FREDERICK, Md. (AP) -- Frederick County sheriff's deputies are investigating the death of a Westminster man whose body was found along the Urbana Pike in the Frederick area.

Sgt. Jennifer Bailey said Monday that the only obvious injuries to Jeffrey Mathis, 45, were some abrasions on his right elbow.

Bailey says a motorist found the body lying near the entrance to a car dealership along the busy retail-and-commercial strip at about 10:45 a.m. on Sunday.

She says investigators are awaiting a state medical examiner's report on the cause and manner of death.
