West River Man Charged In Annapolis Mall Video Voyeurism Incident

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (WJZ) -- An Anne Arundel County man accused of trying to secretly record a 16-year-old girl as she was trying on clothing at a store in the Annapolis Mall was arrested on a list of charges Tuesday, authorities said.

Savio Macedo Silvestre, 20, of West River, is charged with soliciting a minor in child pornography and filming a minor in a sex act, both felonies, and Peeping Tom and visual surveillance in a private place with prurient intent, both misdemeanors, court records show.

The victim was in a Forever 21 dressing room about 4:30 p.m. when she noticed a man, later identified as Silvestre, angling his cellphone towards her from a neighboring dressing room, according to Anne Arundel County Police. When she confronted the suspect and asked him what he was doing, he immediately left the dressing room.

Based on statements provided by the victim, the suspect and a store employee, Silvestre was placed under arrest, police said. At last check, he was being held on $250,000 bond.
