WEATHER BLOG: Warm Sunday

A fantastic day across the entire region Sunday with a gusty south-southwesterly wind averaging 10-20 mph with higher gusts. We're going with a high of 82 under partly sunny skies (18 degrees above average!). The last time that Baltimore topped 82 degrees was all the way back on Oct. 6, some 6.5 months ago!

The warm day will be followed by a mild night; temps will bottom out near 60. All the while, a strong cold front, warm front and dry line  will cause intense and damaging thunderstorms across the Plains and Midwest. This front will cause large hail, damaging winds, and isolated tornadoes Sunday across the Central states. The front will make progress on Monday. The most noticeable difference in the weather around Baltimore will be increased cloud cover. An area of showers, perhaps with some embedded thunderstorms, reaches the area Monday night.
