WEATHER BLOG: Unseasonably Warm

Unseasonably warm and moisture-rich air continues to move into the mid-Atlantic as a cold front slowly pushes eastward today and tonight. This front will be the mechanism that squeezes out a healthy amount of rain into our region. Spotty showers this afternoon will evolve into some steadier and heavier rain later tonight. A flash flood watch has been issued for western Maryland. Showers remain in the forecast tomorrow. Forecast confidence isn't as high for the end of the week/weekend. The upper low over the area, combined with any moisture from Tropical Storm Joaquin could lead to another heavy rain event for the mid-Atlantic. This isn't a guarantee, but if it does happen, flooding with be a threat for our neighborhood.
