WEATHER BLOG: Tracking Joaquin

Hi Everyone,

Heck where do I even begin. OK, let's start here..I urge, URGE you to, (here at CBSBaltimore.com), watch the video First Warning discussion of Hurricane Joaquin. Whatever I write, now, may darn well be out of date by the time you are reading this. The video presentation will be much more current.

AND I want you to keep something in mind. All that you see, and hear, this far away from an event like Joaquin is  'Guidance", rather than a "Solution." There is a big difference. BIG. Eventually a solution will be reached. But 4 day's out no such thing exists with these storms. Believe it.

As for the current situation we are looking for another round of heavy rain with potential flooding conditions. That would begin tonight and last through tomorrow. That will be a Low riding up the front that has been stalled over the I-95 corridor all week. Add to that Low a strong easterly flow brining moisture inland from the Atlantic and you have some really wet conditions region wide.

Did I mention it got chilly overnight. 55 degrees during the Morning Edition today. Heck tomorrow much of the day, with a forecast high of just 53, (20 below normal), the actual temps will be in the upper 40's. What the heck?

I gotta tell you when this stretch of weather, (which began earlier this week), ends it might rank up there as the biggest local weather story of the year. Even more so than last Winter.  And that is pretty darn impressive. Stay alert. Please.
