WEATHER BLOG: Seasonably Cool Halloween

Mostly clear and calm early this morning with surface high pressure overhead. However, high clouds are quickly streaming into western PA, WV and far western MD from the west and southwest on current satellite imagery so even though it is clear now, high clouds will be streaming in overhead later this morning. Little to no flow right now will become light southwesterly later today as the surface high overhead right now quickly retreats off to our east as today progresses. Clouds lower and thicken late today into tonight as a quick moving low pressure area passes by to our north late tonight and tomorrow, pushing a fairly weak warm front across the area which could yield a brief shower or sprinkle across parts of the WJZ area tomorrow morning, but many areas may stay rain-free and those that do receive rain will generally just get a trace or under 0.05" tomorrow morning. Aside from that, tomorrow will turn out milder with clouds and some sunshine. Surface high pressure builds back into the region tomorrow night but then quickly retreats to the E and NE again on Monday and Monday night.

Temperatures will be unseasonably warm for the middle of next week as upper ridging builds over the eastern third of the nation, promoting highs several days in a row over 70 degrees - 10 degrees or so above normal for this time of year! The ridge will flatten out a bit as we head into Friday and next weekend with a frontal boundary approaching from the west, but temperatures will remain on the mild side by early November standards right through next weekend, even with the next front perhaps bringing clouds and shower chances. Have a good day and weekend!
