WEATHER BLOG: Saturday

Cold air damming definitely won out yesterday, as we really never saw the sun or temperatures nearly as warm as we expected. The high at BWI was only 59! With that said, warmth was not far away, as DC got to 68 and much of northern VA got into the mid and upper 70s!

The cold front has cleared the coast and clouds have cleared out of the area. Temperatures will be seasonable today, in the low to mid 60s with plenty of sun, as a cooler airmass settles briefly over the area.

This cool air will quickly move eastward Sunday and high pressure will control our weather through Monday with temperatures in the 60s. On Monday, there is a good possibility to see temperatures into the middle 70s with southwesterly flow ahead of an advancing cold front. By Monday night, that cold front will approach the region and this will spark showers overnight Monday night into the first part of Tuesday. Tuesday afternoon will dry out and another area of high pressure will control our weather through the day on Thursday. Unsettled weather may return by Friday and into next weekend.

Have a nice day!
