WEATHER BLOG: Perseid Meteor Shower

HI Everyone,

High pressure has ridged in, and there you have it. A five day run of sun. There is little chance this forecast will tank. Early on, today-tomorrow-Friday,  not too hot or humid. Then through the weekend we will see temps a few degrees above normal, and conditions will be a bit more humid, but still…SUNNY.

If there is a bump in the road it will be late Saturday afternoon when we will add just a mention,  not a huge concern, of a late day-night pop up t-shower.

Because of this High giving us clear skies, and the fact the Moon is not an issue during our night time hours right now,  there will be perfect conditions to see the Perseid meteor shower tonight.  The prime time will be dusk through dawn tomorrow with the peak happening between 3-4 AM.

Here is a GREAT link to get more info on this cosmic light show;

Here is also a little know fact; John Denver's song, "Rocky Mountain High" has a line in it that reads, "I've seen fire in the sky." His reference point was a meteor shower. When conditions are right, as they will be tonight, it could be something to see BIG TIME!
