WEATHER BLOG: Labor Day Weekend

Current surface map shows high pressure over the coast of New England with a cold front cutting through the Midwest down into the Central Plains. A low pressure over Wisconsin will ride along the cold front into Northern Michigan. High pressure is sliding through south-central Canada behind the cold front. With the high pressure off the New England coast will shift our winds out of the south more today than they were yesterday. This will allow for a noticeable increase in our humidity. Yesterdays dew points were very comfortable in the upper 40s and low 50s. Today they will be in the
upper 50s and low 60s. What will not change much will be our high temperatures where they will remain in the lower 80s like they were yesterday. With the increase in amount of moisture we will see more in a way of clouds today. With high pressure in control we will still remain dry today. Tonight the high pressure in the Atlantic will continue to slide off to the west while the low pressure over Wisconsin this morning will move into Quebec by late tonight. This will pull the cold front to the north as a secondary low pressure forms over ND. This will allow for the southerly flow to continue and allow for a warm and humid night with overnight lows in the upper 60s/low 70s. By Sunday the low pressure over ND will pull into south-central Canada with a cold front stretching through the Northern Plains.
