WEATHER BLOG: Hurricane Season Starts Today
Today marks the start of the 2016 Atlantic Hurricane Season. We have already had 2 named storms this year, Hurricane Alex and Tropical Storm Bonnie. NOAA is forecasting that a near-normal season is most likely. We don't have anything brewing right now, but the remnants of Bonnie continue to cause problems along coastal North Carolina.
Here at home, we have enjoyed a beautiful start to June and the first day of Meteorological Summer with lots of sunshine and lower humidity. A cold front will approach from the east late Thursday into Friday raising our chances for a few showers and a t-storm. Humidity will also be on the increase as we end the work week.
