Weather Blog: Cold And Windy

The upper trough responsible for the midwest blizzard is making it's move across the Great Lakes today. The cold front, or leading edge of this trough is pushing across the northeast. We had warm air surging ahead of that throughout much of the day today, but as the front continues to progress east, the temperature are really beginning to drop.

Winds have also been picking up and a wind advisory is in place for most of Maryland. Gusts to 50mph are possible tonight and on Sunday. A few showers are beginning to make there way through as well and we have already heard reports of some sleet mixing in in spots to our west. Showers should come to an end later this evening as temperatures continue to drop. Look for low temps in the lower 30s overnight. Highs on Sunday are only forecast to make it into the upper 40s… a major difference compared to what we saw throughout the day today.
