WEATHER BLOG: Bitter Cold, Brutal Winds

We've a lot of weather to talk about tonight. Let's start with the winter weather advisory that remains in effect for the region as a few brief snow squalls move through. The winter weather advisory is set to expire around midnight. A high wind warning is also in effect for the region. Potentially damaging winds are possible and may gust as high as 60mph. In addition, some of the coldest air we have seen in a long time is moving in overnight. Combine this cold with extremely powerful winds and that equates to a wind chill well below zero. Wind chill warnings go into effect north & west of the city at midnight with wind chill advisories going into effect for everyone else. Wind chills as low as 15 to 20 degrees below will be possible. Tune in to WJZ tonight at 11PM for more details.
