WEATHER BLOG: Above Average Temps

What a great break from the cold, snow and mess we've had.

Westerly flow brought drier air...which in turn allowed for sunny skies. Despite snow cover, the west flow has squeezed every degree, and then some out of the atmosphere.

Seeing how mild it was today, tomorrow should be even milder given the higher temps aloft. Our normal high is now 51°...we are comfortable forecasting a high near 57°.

We should be colder tonight than last night, since there's little cloud cover to lock in the warmth. Temperatures will be rather uniform across the area. Winds will probably diminish enough late to allow BWI-Marshall to cool down. However, the Inner Harbor could easily be 10 degrees warmer.

The rain and preceding clouds will hold temperatures down a bit Tuesday. Wednesday also looks nice. It should be plenty of sun and mixing of upper level temps to get us well into the 50°s... 60° is not out of the question. FYI, the last 60 degree reading was on Christmas!
