Wayback Wednesday: Duane Starks Reflects On His Time With The Baltimore Ravens

Former Baltimore Ravens cornerback Duane Starks joined Ed and Rob as part of Wayback Wednesday to talk about the four seasons he spent in the Ravens organization.

Duane was drafted by the Ravens with the 10th overall selection in the 1998 NFL Draft and was a starting corner during the Ravens run to their first Superbowl, where he starred in the game with an interception which he returned for a touchdown.

Duane recalled his draft day in 1998 saying, "I actually was on the phone with Philadelphia. I thought they were going to take me at 11, then Baltimore called me and asked if I was ready. So I hung up on Philly and said 'oh yeah, I'm ready' to Baltimore."

When asked about the actual draft day and how he watched the draft with his family Duane said, "I didn't want to go up to New York. I wanted to be around the people who knew me and supported me throughout the years, to this day my family and close friends still talk about that day and how emotional it was."

Duane also went on to talk about the Ravens run to their first Superbowl victory, and what was going through his head as he returned an interception for a touchdown to seal the win.
