Operations at Mercy Hospital have not been impacted, but one or two apartment buildings on Davis Street have been affected and have no water.
"It shouldn't be too terribly bad. People who work at Mercy who are coming in you will be able to get to your offices," said Kurt Kocher with Department of Public Works.
Some residents are prepared downtown to lose water service during repairs.
"It's unfortunate but it happens," said Dax Johnson, a resident. "It just happened today, but if it doesn't turn on for a couple of days, it's a problem,"
