Water Main Break Causes Road Closure, Street To Buckle In Baltimore

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Authorities are working to stop a water main break in Baltimore that has caused the street to buckle.

The break is in the 4700 block of Greenspring Ave. near Dupont Ave.

Crews are on scene and the road has been closed to traffic.

There are reports that some basements of nearby homes are flooding because of this water main break.

The Department of Public Works say the 16-inch water main break has left customers without water, including 100 apartment units, 30 homes, a school and 4 hydrants.

Crews hope to have water restored by Wednesday.

There's no set time for road repairs. The City needs to expect the road to determine if it's safe to drive on.
