WATCH: Singer Christina Grimmie Performs In Baltimore
BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Former "The Voice" contestant Christina Grimmie has been shot and killed after a performance in Orlando, Florida.
The suspect, identified as a 21-year-old white male, didn't appear to know Grimmie personally, but police believe he may have been a deranged fan.
At this time, the gunman's motives are still unclear.
Last year, Grimmie gave a touching performance at the Ed Block Courage Awards, a black tie gala event to honor select NFL players for their sportsmanship and their bravery.
When questioned about her feeling about giving back to the community, she responded "I feel like you have this sense of you need to be a role model and that's a very high goal of mine"
