WATCH: Paralyzed 'Mermaid Kitty' Gets Rolling With Custom Wheelchair

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Dasha, a kitty at the Baltimore Animal Rescue & Care Shelter, was accidentally slammed in a door at just four weeks old, which paralyzed her from the waist down.

This week, the affectionately named "mermaid kitty" was able to get around a little better for the first time after being fitted for a custom kitty wheelchair.

Here's how Dasha walked before:

Here's how she walked yesterday, after being placed in her new "chair."

Shelter workers say they'll continue to make adjustments to the chair to make sure Dasha is as comfortable as possible.
