Washington Redskins Respond With "Redskins Facts" Campaign

The Washington Redskins have faced quite a bit of bad press in the last few years and are being pressured to change their team name because it is seen as insensitive and degrading by some. The movement gains steam every time a celebrity or political leader makes a comment about forcing the change but ultimately it is not the President's decision whether or not an NFL team must rename, rebrand, or anything, in D.C. or not.

The National Congress of American Indians released a very emotionally driven YouTube video that was about using words of honor to describe Native Americans. Using any other word than the "R-Word". In fact, the video gained so much popularity that it was actually shown during the NBA playoffs a few months back. The video currently has over 3 million views on YouTube.

Not to be outdone, the Washington Redskins have released their own campaign and YouTube video that is obviously pro-Redskins. The video comes shortly after former Skins players including Gary Clark, Chris Cooley, Mark Moseley, Ray Schoenke and Roy Jefferson visited the Rocky Boy's Reservation in Montana and the team launched a pro-Redskins campaign called "Redskins Facts" to "be a reference point for everyone with a vested interest in the future of the Washington Redskins' identity" (via RedskinsFacts.com).
