Gloomy, wet start to the workweek in Maryland

Sunday early evening storms have moved out of central Maryland and the Eastern Shore. Temperatures gradually cool back into the upper 60s and lower 70s early Monday morning. The workweek begins with gloomier weather and a continued chance of rain. 

Temperatures trend cooler in Maryland this week

Monday features more clouds and scattered rain showers. A couple rumbles of thunder are possible during the afternoon and evening. While still humid, Monday afternoon will be cooler.  Temperatures across central Maryland will remain nearly 10-15° cooler than Sunday afternoon. Temperatures peak in the mid to upper 70s. The forecast has trended a bit cooler. 

Another round of showers and gloom arrives on Tuesday. Beyond Tuesday, humidity will slowly decrease and the forecast becomes drier. More comfortable conditions filter into the Mid-Atlantic later this week. 

Drier weather and plenty of sunshine are also in the forecast beyond Wednesday. 

Erin brings huge waves, rip currents to the East Coast 

Hurricane Erin's center moved north of Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands last night. The same front that is boosting our chance of rain, locally, will help steer Erin will stay out to sea over the next three to five days. However, Erin will be a massive hurricane as it parallels the East Coast. The First Alert Weather Team expects huge swells, dangerous rip currents and windy weather along our coastline. The worst conditions are expected Wednesday, into Thursday.
