Volunteers Deliver Meals To Senior Citizens Across Baltimore Amid Coronavirus Pandemic

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- UMMC and community members came together at Baltimore City Community College to deliver thousands of meals to local senior residents.

Organizers say COVID-19 pandemic restrictions make it especially difficult for some seniors to get out- and get healthy meals.

CORONAVIRUS COVERAGE:

Volunteers from various churches, synagogues and other organizations picked up healthy meals to deliver to 3,000 seniors in the city as part of the All Walks of Faith event, whose sponsors included K.E.Y.S. Empowers and the Liberty Village Project. UMMC Midtown's Chef Connie Johnson and her team prepared the food.

It's all thanks to help from various churches, synagogues and other organizations.
