Vigil Set For Former School Teacher Killed In 2011

GLEN BURNIE, Md. (AP) -- A vigil is being planned for a retired school teacher who was shot and killed in a Glen Burnie parking lot three years ago.

The Capital of Annapolis reports the vigil for Myra Cason will be held Jan. 25.

Carson was found shot to death inside her car on Jan. 21, 2011. The car was in the parking lot outside Gavigan's Furniture in the 7300-block of Ritchie Highway. Cason's sister says the vigil will be held at 2 p.m. in the parking lot where she was found.

No one has been charged in Carson's death, but county police announced in November that a newly formed team of retired detectives would review Cason's case along with other unsolved homicides.
