VIDEO: Clerk Disarms Armed Robber At Frederick 7-Eleven

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- An armed robbery suspect got more than he bargained for when he tried to hold up a 7-Eleven in Frederick at gunpoint.

The incident apparently happened before 4 a.m. July 12.

Surveillance video, uploaded to YouTube by the Frederick News-Post, shows the suspect storm up to the counter with a rifle as a customer backs out of the way. But suddenly the clerk grabs hold of the barrel and, following a struggle, wrestles it away.

Disarmed, the suspect, whose face is obscured by a hooded sweatshirt and bandana, bolts out of the business as one of the bystanders can be seen trying to land a parting shot.
