Va. Man Dies After Being Ejected in Motorcycle Crash

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- A Virginia man was killed after being ejected from his motorcycle in a two-vehicle crash on Route 50 in Bowie on Sunday morning, authorities said.

A 2015 Kawasaki motorcycle driven by the man was heading west on Route 50 near Church Road about 8:30 a.m. when the bike slammed into a GMC pickup truck in the westbound carpool lane, according to Maryland State Police.

The motorcyclist was thrown from his bike on impact, troopers said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Troopers said the driver of the pickup was taken to Prince George's Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
