Up To 2.5 Inches Of Snow In Western Md. Mountains

MOUNTAIN LAKE PARK, Md. (AP) -- The National Weather Service is reporting the season's first measurable snowfall in far western Maryland.

The agency says an observer reported that up to 2 1/2 inches fell from Thursday through Friday morning near Mountain Lake Park in Garrett County.

Other reported measurements ranged from three-tenths of an inch in Frostburg to one inch in the Deep Creek Lake area.

The agency forecast scattered snow showers in Garrett County Friday and Sunday, with the possibility of additional accumulation Sunday night and Monday.
