University Of Maryland Officers Arrest On-Campus Assault Suspect, Police Say

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Police at the University of Maryland have arrested Joshua Black for allegedly committing an on-campus assault, according to authorities.

The University of Maryland Police Department announced the arrest of the 30-year-old man from Olney, Maryland, on Wednesday.

Hours later, university officers said that Black would face additional charges of trespassing and molestation.

University police released several surveillance images of a man who was suspected of assaulting a female at the McKeldin Library earlier this week.

Police described the man as white and between the ages of 18 and 20 years old.

They made public a picture of the suspect, noting that he wore glasses, a blue puffy jacket, a blue hooded sweatshirt, a green cap, black North Face pants, black shoes, and a black Under Armour backpack.

Someone saw the images and provided officers with information that helped them identify Black, according to authorities.
