UNC Tops Maryland 13-7 At ACC Tourney

GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) -- Will Myers' tiebreaking RBI single started a six-run eighth inning that helped North Carolina beat Maryland 13-7 on Saturday at the Atlantic Coast Conference baseball tournament.

Skye Bolt finished with three hits and two RBIs for the seventh-seeded Tar Heels (34-25).

The sixth-seeded Terrapins (36-20) clinched a berth in Sunday's league championship game earlier in the day when Miami beat Duke.

Landon Lassiter, Bolt and Tyler Ramirez had consecutive run-scoring singles during the Tar Heels' big eighth.

Michael Russell and Zach Daly each drove in two runs for North Carolina.

Kevin Martir's two-run homer in the third pulled the Terrapins to 3-2, and Brandon Lowe's run-scoring single capped Maryland's five-run seventh and tied it at 7.
