Unattended Cooking Caused Dorton Court Fire That Killed 2 Children

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Unattended cooking caused the fire that killed 10-year-old Kamarl Ferrell and 1-year-old Tylynn McDuffie last week, according to the Baltimore City Fire Department.

The fire broke out in the Dorton Court home early Saturday morning.

The children, who were brother and sister, both died of smoke inhalation.

They were the second pair of Baltimore siblings killed in a fire within a week.

A 3-year-old and 9-month-old died in a fire on Clinton Street Wednesday.

A 90-year-old woman also died after a fire broke out on her Denison Street home late Saturday.
