UMES Marks 1 Year Since Student Stabbed On Campus

PRINCESS ANNE, Md. (AP) -- It's been one year since a 21-year-old college student was fatally stabbed on the campus of University of Maryland Eastern Shore during homecoming week, and police are still looking for suspects.

Sunday marks one year since the death of Edmond St. Clair of Severn.

Troopers say St. Clair was in a car with others when they encountered a group walking on the school's campus in Princess Anne. Police say an altercation broke out, and St. Clair was stabbed. Investigators say as many as three people may be involved in his death.

The Maryland State Police said earlier this week that investigators have expanded their search for the person or persons who killed St. Clair.

Authorities are also looking for witnesses who were in the area when the crime occurred.
