U.S. Park Police Release Videos Of Persons Of Interest In Attempted Child Abduction

WASHINGTON, D.C. (WJZ) -- The U.S. Park Police released two videos showing people of interest in an attempted child abduction outside the Smithsonian National Air & Space Museum earlier this month.

According to authorities, a group of children were leaving the museum on March 3 when a man grabbed the hand of a child in that group. A chaperone noticed the man and yelled at him to leave the child alone.

Officials believe the man boarded a white shuttle bus in the 600 Block of Jefferson Drive SW.

The U.S. Park Police is hoping the public can help them identify the men in the videos, who are persons of interest in the case.

Police said the first man is a white male with brown hair and spoke with an accent.

The second is a white male with grey hair, heavyset.

Police are asking any bus companies that had a drop off or pick up between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. on March 3 to call the tip line 202-610-8737.

The public can also call that number with information.
