Police Continue To Investigate Glen Burnie Home Invasion; 1 Suspect Charged
GLEN BURNIE, Md. (WJZ) -- As police continue to investigate a home invasion in Glen Burnie that led to a shooting Friday, a second suspect was charged.
Anne Arundel County Police took 20-year-old Tyler Perdue of Lansdowne into custody Thursday night. Purdue, who was charged with 13 counts in the incident, was denied bail Friday. He also has a pending burglary charge in Baltimore County and a pending charge for violating probation.
Man Shot After Targeted Home Invasion In Glen Burnie, Police Say
Anne Arundel County Police said homeowner Thomas Fisher was checking his chicken coop when he heard a noise coming from his house on Thursday morning.
He went inside and saw his fiancée, Katrina Brown, struggling with two intruders. Fisher grabbed his shotgun and shot one of the intruders in the leg as they were fleeing.
Court documents confirm Fischer fired his shotgun three times and two of the shots hit the other suspect in the lower torso.
Both the homeowner's fiancée and the injured intruder were taken to the hospital.
Court documents identify the injured suspect as 38-year-old Patrick Doerr. Police have not officially released his name as he is still being treated at an area hospital.
Brown had to get stitches and staples in her head because of the assault. Court documents show she also fired a shot at the suspects but missed.
In a statement of probable cause, Purdue admitted to detectives that he was involved in the home invasion and said he and the other suspect arrived at the house with a pellet gun.

A pre-trial date has not yet been set, so Purdue will remain behind bars.
Police said the four people may have known each other, and that the home invasion could be targeted.
