2 Officers Shot, 1 Fatally In Capitol Heights

CAPITOL HEIGHTS, Md. (WJZ) -- Prince George's County Police say two security guards were shot in Capitol Heights, one fatally, early Friday morning.

It happened around 1:00 a.m. in the unit block of Cindy Lane.

Investigators believe the two guards were at their vehicles filling out paperwork when a person approached them and opened fire.

Detectives believe this was a targeted crime.

Police say 26-year-old Adrian Kinard, of Northwest D.C. died as a result of the shooting. The other officer suffered non-life threatening injuries.

A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered in this case.
