Two Boats Sink In Baltimore's Inner Harbor After Fire

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- The U.S. Coast Guard is investigating how two boats caught fire and sank Monday morning in Baltimore's Inner Harbor.

One boat caught fire around 3:30 a.m. in Belts Wharf Landing Yacht Club and drifted across the harbor to Henderson's Wharft Marina, according to the coast guard. That boat then hit a second boat, which then also caught on fire.

The coast Guard is coordination with the Maryland Department of the Environment and the Baltimore City Fire Department to contain and recover the oil and debris from the sinking boats.

Sorbent boom and pads were deployed to contain the discharged oil.

No injuries were reported and the cause is still under investigation.
