Twitter Reacts To Britton Being Snubbed Cy Young Nomination
BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Baltimore Orioles reliever Zach Britton's perfect 47-for-47 save season, and near-historic 0.54 ERA this season, was not enough to earn him a spot as a finalist for Cy Young Award consideration.
The AL Cy Young finalists are: Cleveland's Corey Kluber, Boston's Rick Porcello, and Detroit's Justin Verlander.
Here are some reactions from baseball fans around the league that believe he was #snubbed:
#zachbritton not a finalist for the AL Cy young is one of the biggest mistakes that the @mlb has done ever #disgrace #shameonyou

How does a guy who went a perfect 47-47 in saves for a playoff team not make the #cyyoung top 3 finalists? #zachbritton #robbed #orioles

Buck Showalter said, "This guy had maybe the best year in the history of relief pitching. He should have finished in the top three in MVP, OK? He should. There's nobody in baseball who's more valuable to their team than Zach Britton is to the Orioles."
Britton did win the Mariano Rivera AL Reliever of the Year Award.
