As the latest wave of low pressure moves swiftly across the area and heads out into the Atlantic this afternoon, rain during this morning's rush hours will be more of a "nuisance" than anything else.

Actually, with the surface wind shifting to the west and northwest behind a front this afternoon, enough dry air should start mixing down to the surface to break up the cloud cover -- and most places should have a decent evening.

There will be clearing and temperatures will be mostly in the mid or upper 70s. Overnight, under a mainly clear sky, it will be rather chilly.

Most urban areas and coastal communities will be in the 50s, but it will be in the 40s in some of the typically colder spots farther inland.

There will be a large area of high pressure that will begin to build into the Northeast and the mid-Atlantic states tomorrow and Thursday.

Therefore, dry weather will prevail each day.

While there probably will be some clouds around tomorrow night, the next front will have very little moisture to work with -- so no rain is expected tomorrow night or Thursday.
