Trimble Tabbed To Preseason All-B1G Team

COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Maryland junior guard Melo Trimble has been named to the 2016-17 Preseason All-Big Ten Team.

Trimble – a two-time All-Big Ten selection – led the Terps in scoring (14.8 ppg), assists (5.0 apg), free throw percentage (.868) and steals (44) last season as Maryland advanced to the Sweet Sixteen for the first time since 2003.

A native of Upper Marlboro, Md., Trimble was also tabbed an Associated Press Honorable Mention All-American a year ago. Since his arrival to College Park in 2014, the Terps have posted back-to-back 27-win seasons for the first time in program history. He is one of only two players (Joe Smith) to post 500 points in each of their first two seasons at Maryland.

The Terps will host Maryland Madness on Friday at 8 p.m. Maryland will welcome Catawba for an exhibition Nov. 5 before officially kicking off the season against American on Nov. 11 at 7 p.m. at XFINITY Center.
