WEST LONG BEACH, N.J. (AP) -- A.J. Astroth scored 14 points to lead Towson to a 58-49 win over Central Connecticut in the College Basketball Experience Hall of Fame Classic on Friday.

Towson jumped to a 13-4 lead midway through the first half as Central Connecticut (0-3) came out cold.

The Blue Devils, who trailed 26-15 at the break, warmed up in the second half cutting the lead to 40-37 following Faronte Drakeford's 3-pointer with 8:30 left. The Tigers answered quickly with an 8-0 run to lead 48-37 with 5:10 remaining. CCSU got no closer than seven after that.

Matt Mobley and Khalen Cumberland had 14 apiece for CCSU.

Towson will play Bethune-Cookman in the next tournament game on Saturday, while CCSU will play tournament-host Monmouth in the following game.
