Thousands Of Pennies Spill Out Of Overturned Semi On I-95

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Thousands of pennies are littering the roadway on I-95 northbound in Delaware this morning, after a tractor trailer carrying the currency overturned shortly before 2 a.m., CBS Philadelphia reports.

According to the Delaware State Police, all lanes of I-95 northbound were closed while the pennies were being cleaned off the roadway, and traffic was diverted off of the highway and onto the ramp to DE Rt. 141 southbound.

According to Total Traffic, the road was still completely closed shortly before 8 a.m.

Commuters are being asked to find alternate routes of travel.
