Thief Steals FedEx Truck And Packages At Gunpoint

BOWIE, Md. (AP) — Authorities in Maryland say they're looking for a man who stole a FedEx truck at gunpoint.

News outlets report the thief took the 20-foot (6-meter) FedEx Ground box truck Monday.

The Bowie Police Department says the thief showed a handgun to the two employees inside the truck, told them to get out and took off.

The thief was described in a police flier as tall, black and male.

FedEx says they are fully cooperating with authorities to locate the stolen truck and packages. The company says customers with questions about their shipments can visit the website.

It's unclear what the truck contained. The Washington Post reports a recent annual FedEx report indicated the company uses 180,000 motorized vehicles "to pick up and deliver more than 14 million shipments per day."
