Teen Shot By Baltimore Police Charged In Separate Shooting

BALTIMORE (AP) -- Authorities say that a teenager shot by Baltimore police during a December altercation has now been charged with attempted murder in an unrelated shooting the month prior.

The Baltimore Sun (http://bsun.md/1RrrgPd) reports that 18-year-old Daishawn Rogers was arrested Thursday and charged in connection with the Nov. 21 shooting of an unidentified 23-year-old man in West Baltimore.

Rogers had previously been released on $150,000 bail on two handgun offenses in relation to a Dec. 16 incident in which he was shot by officers who said he refused to drop his gun.

Police spokesman Donny Moses says the gun found on Rogers in the December incident was the same one used in the November shooting.

Elizabeth Lopez, the public defender representing Rogers on the December handgun charges, declined to comment on the new charges.
