Teen Returned To S.C. From Maryland To Face Murder Charge

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- A teen has been returned from Maryland to South Carolina to face a murder charge in the shooting death of a high school student earlier this year.

Columbia Police Chief Skip Holbrook said in a statement that 19-year-old Jerimiah Pough was returned from Baltimore, Maryland, on Wednesday night.

Pough was arrested March 27 during a traffic stop on Interstate 95. He is charged with murder in the shooting death of 17-year-old Eric Washington.

Investigators say Pough and 19-year-old Jahmir Taylor got into a dispute with Washington during a basketball game. They met later at a park and Washington was shot.

Taylor was arrested earlier. He and Pough are charged with murder and possession of a weapon during a crime.

It was not clear if Pough has an attorney.
