Teen Drowns While Swimming In Maryland's Lake Linganore
NEW MARKET, Md. (AP) — Officials in Frederick County say an 18-year-old drowned while swimming in Lake Linganore.
The Frederick County Sheriff's Office says in a statement that its officers were called to the lake on Friday around 3:45 p.m. When officers arrived, they were told that an 18-year-old man was swimming with friends near the beach when he became tired and disappeared under the water.
The sheriff's office says rescue teams searched for the teen for four hours before locating his body at 7:45 p.m.
The sheriff's office identified the teen as Andrew Dantzler of Germantown. The sheriff's office says investigators determined that the drowning was accidental.
