Teen Accused Of Killing Man Inside Model Home Held Without Bond
HANOVER, Md. (WJZ) -- The 18-year-old man accused in the murder of a real estate sales representative inside a model home last week was held without bond Monday, following a court appearance.
Dillon Nicholas Augustyniak appeared in court Monday via video link.
Augustyniak's public defender fought his bail review hearing being held in open court.
Steven Wilson, 30, was killed inside a model home on Dec. 5. Police believe he was fatally shot during an alleged robbery. The suspect allegedly took his laptop and cell phone worth $2,000, court records show.
According to court records, Anne Arundel County Police and Fire responded around 5:13 p.m. after dispatchers received a 911 call from the residence. The dispatcher could only hear someone breathing heavily and the person sounded to be in distress.
In the background the dispatcher heard, "Where is the money?" and "Who are you talking to?"
The the dispatcher heard what sounded like the phone being moved, before it was disconnected.
Arrest Made Real Estate Sales Agent's Killing
Video surveillance cameras showed that the suspect was armed with a long gun.
During the investigation, police learned Augustyniak tried to sell the gun and have the phone to someone.
A police warrant was executed at his home and they found a firearm that looked similar to what the suspect was carrying in the surveillance video.

Augustyniak has no prior record, but court-reference mental.
Wilson's death was ruled a homicide.
His family was in the courtroom and issued the following statement:
"We are grateful that Steve Wilson's suspected killer will be detained until trial. We again thank the investigators who brought their inquiry to a close so quickly. We are also very grateful to the State's Attorney's office for their diligent work thus far. We are confident that the State's Attorney will present a strong case and ultimately secure a conviction."
