It was September 1, 1996, 20 years ago today, that the Baltimore Ravens played their first regular season game in Baltimore.

The 1996 season was the franchise's inaugural season in the National Football League at Memorial Stadium in Baltimore, Maryland.

The Ravens finished their first season with a 4–12 record under coach Ted Marchibroda, who coached the Colts before and after they relocated and has a 41–33 regular season record in Baltimore.

The 1996 Baltimore Ravens roster included fan favorites like Jermaine Lewis, Jonathan Ogden, Ray Lewis, and Matt Stover.
