Syracuse Inks Baltimore Native Forward Woody Newton, Guard Kadary Richmond

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) — Syracuse has signed forward Woody Newton and guard Kadary Richmond to national letters of intent.

The 6-foot-8 Newton, a Baltimore native, plays for Mt. Zion Prep and is ranked 79th overall in the 2020 class by 247Sports.com. Newton's play helped the Warriors advance to the 2019 National Prep Championship.

The 6-5 Richmond is at Brewster Academy in New Hampshire this season and previously attended South Shore High School in Brooklyn, New York, where he led the Vikings to a Public Schools Athletic League championship in 2019 and was named the New York City Public School Player of the Year. He is ranked 98th overall in the 2020 class by 247Sports.com.
