Swim Portion of Iron Girl Columbia Triathlon Cancelled

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Heads up triathletes, the swim leg of the 2016 Iron Girl Columbia Triathlon on Sunday has been cancelled.

In a news release Friday, race organizers said the decision was made because test results from the water following the flooding in Howard County continued to come back with unacceptable levels of contamination.

The release also said the storm drains on Centennial Park Lake must remain closed to protect communities below the dam from flooding.
