SUV Crashes Into Calvert County Strip Mall, Sparking Fire

OWINGS, Md. (WJZ) -- A florist shop is a total loss after a SUV barreled into the building.

It happened at a strip mall in Owings. Investigators say the driver crashed into the building.

By the time crews arrived, the shop "Floral Expressions" was fully engulfed in flames. The vehicle was also on fire.

The driver, 32-year-old Vincent Troy, is suspected of being under the influence. Officials say he was out of the vehicle and being helped by others when authorities arrived.

Three firefighters were injured. Two have been treated and released, while the third is in stable condition.

The investigation is ongoing.
