Suspicious Package Investigated At Prince George's County Court House

Upper Marlboro, Md. (WJZ) --  Prince George's County Fire Department had been investigating a suspicious package in the area of a Court House in Upper Marlboro on Wednesday afternoon but authorities have since given an "All Clear."

It happened around just around noon on Wednesday.

A bomb-sniffing dog doing a routine patrol found had an alert  in the parking lot outside the commissioner's entrance to the courthouse on a vehicle. Police and investigative crews then began to look into the situation.

The Court House was partially evacuated, and then fully evacuated. Area roads were also shut down.

Around 1:30 p.m. Prince George's County police said the all-clear had been given and the roads in the area were opened once again.

Children were in care of a day care center, also in the area. The children were evacuated but were returned to the day care center once the "all clear" was given.
