Anne Arundel County Police Officer Shot Man In Arnold After Being Charged At With Knife, Police Say

ARNOLD, MD. (WJZ) -- Police are investigating an officer-involved shooting in Anne Arundel County Sunday afternoon.

Police said between 3 p.m. and 3:30 p.m., they got a call to the 1100 block of Lakeview Court for a domestic dispute.

The person living in the house said his ex-boyfriend was outside. While officers were en route, they said the ex-boyfriend called 911 as well and said "I have a gun,"

When officers arrived to the scene, they confronted the suspect who was outside. The suspect began to run around the officer's car.

The officer then ran around behind him and when he came around, the suspect turned with a knife and started running at the officer.

Police said that's when their officer shot several rounds.

The suspect is in an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and is expected to make a full recovery.

Homicide detectives- because it was an officer-involved shooting- are investigating.

They said several weapons were found on the scene, but a gun is not one of them that police know of yet.

Police said they still have yet to interview the suspect, and the investigation is still active.
