Officer injured in South Baltimore shooting, suspect dies
BALTIMORE -- A suspect is dead after a shooting involving a police officer in South Baltimore Friday evening, police said.
The shooting happened in the 3400 block of South Hanover Street around 10 p.m. when officers were investigating a previously reported shooting where a suspect shot at multiple people. According to a press conference, as officers were speaking with the believed suspect, the suspect shot at officers and officer shot back, striking the suspect.

Police said one officer was shot and suffered non-life threatening injuries. He was shot in the chest and the bullet hit his kevlar vest.
During a press conference, Mayor Scott commended the officers for their quick action and stated the injured officer is "in as good of spirits as you can be for someone who just got shot."
Information regarding the suspect's identity have not been release at this time.
